Awesome Z06!

Here's the most recent picture of my Sledgehammer (New Set of wheels are next - Profile Hubs w/ Sun Rhyno Lites)

Red on black is my favorite color combo! Nice looking bike!

Can anyone tell me when these frames were switched to full cro-mo from the initial half cro-mo/half steel??? Did they ever become full cro-mo at one point? It looks like the 09' is still "tri-mo" whatever that means. I posted this question a few months back but couldn't get an answer. Is there a way to check by serial numbers, decals, color, parts mix???? any help would be appreciated!

As I was told by the guy's at Volume, the 08 Z06 so far is the only frame w/100% Sanko cromo.Only producing 50 bikes. Of course for a significantly higher price. The "Tri mo" refers to the 3 main tubes on the frame only. The 09 is in fact another "Tri mo", which is much more affordable. I was also informed by Volume, that next year, providing there's enough interest. They would like to produce more than 50 full cromo "Sledges" w/Demolition issue parts for 10.

I grabbed this from Craigslist and swapped a few parts. The bars were ridiculously narrow so I put on a pair of S&M race bars and Oury grips... since the seatpost was a stubby, I put in a longer post and a Shadow seat...

I love this bike! It feels like a oldschool 26"... with a tank like build... To me, this is what a S&M 26" should be... heavy and tough as hell!
Criscobath
Fausty,

You sledge looks almost the same as mine. I'm running S&M bars and a longer post on mine too.

Yeah the bars and the seatpost are the only parts that really need changing... it's a pretty solid bike...

I've started correcting the factory build weaknesses. I trashed the clunky "Dicta" freewheel and put on an old NOS Suntour that I've been hoarding for 20+ years... and I may forgo rebuilding the factory cranks and install a set of Odyssey Wombolts... the factory cranks are 175mm and I'd like 180's...

The hubs are looseball, but they roll fine so I'll probably keep the factory wheels for a while...

how much do these bikes weigh? Do any of you guys jump them?
I am interested in getting one but I don't know if i'd be better off with a 24" cruiser instead. Im 5'6 185 so I dont know if the size is right for me since I can't find a store near me that has one on display.

I'm guessing they weigh 29-30lbs, 12.5" Standover Height so it will fit most anybody just fine, 22" top tube. And mine rode just as good as a 24"cruiser

And you ask can you jump em :

Oh and the 09's are sick !

Thanks for the info. The pic of the blacked out 09 is awesome. Better then their site pic. I am totally getting a black one and may one day add some red or gold in there. They are the sexyest 26 I have seen for the price as far as old school goes (i'm 35) . I can't wait to cruise NYC on one.

Should be getting my Sledgehammer next week! For those of you who go there ,look for me at the Brooklyn Banks this year. I should be stopping there a couple of times this year.

Skinny/stupid is the new "cool"... hehehe...

Must be because of all the fixie insanity that is going on now... I'll be happy to see that fad vanish from the face of the earth.

Hey Mike,
I have a few things up on KSL right now, a couple of guys interested.... but no cash in hand yet.
Go ahead with the listing and hopefully I sell my stuff.... if I do, then I'll find your listing and see if you still have it available.
Thanks man!

Bob

PS - You wouldn't be interested in trading it straight across for a vintage tube amp I have listed, would you? I'm aksing $650, it's worth $1200. Here's the link with all the details if you are interested: http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&a...8167&cat=64

Len WEED was kind enough to sell me his '09 Vol SH.
Thanks Len!

I'm diggin it. Len put some S&M pedals on it and I put a 350mm aluminum seatpost on it. (The stock seatpost was too small for me).
I removed the decals for a cleaner look. I'll probably end up putting some different cranks/chainwheel/sprocket on it eventually.... but for now, I'm riding it and enjoying it a lot. I don't mind the skinny wheels... but I also haven't tried jumping anything bigger than a curb.

I would LOVE to see some video of guys at a park with one of these bikes!

Anyways, here's some pics:
