I had it done last week and it got painted today still needs wetsanded and cleared then decaled ... The Profile style downtube was tig welded in and looks like the factory welds.. old school style that I can actually ride with todays geometry. Its going to be sitting on top of a set of black tuff 2's with chrome flight II's. Thanks for the comments ahead a time

Heres the build
Black tuff II's with skinwall comp 3 type tires , Chrome flight II's ,chrome headset, black pro bars maybe chrome undecided on those , black pedals, black seatpost polished seat clamp, black seat, polished brakes, polished stem, Cal lite black and white checker pads.. I have most of the stuff laying around I just need a 1 1/8 headset to put it all together. My next project may be a GJS style retro new school I have quite a few older race frames laying around to play with ..

great idea, and it looks killer...

how bout some Profiles instead of the Flights ?? not that it really matters though, it oughta be killer either way...
standardracer
I know I know but the profile dont even look close to the same that they did in 82-83 and the flights are still very similar and I have a extra set on hand...

you could always use some 2nd gen crank decals...

Standard, WOW! nice work. Did you have a local shop weld the frame or did you do it yourself? Either way, I like the mix of old n' new and am sure it will look sweet when the job is complete. Email me cos I think I might have a set of crank stickers

10 outta 10 for the DIY ladder bar addition in order to get the look + show the spirit of the original Profile frame.
An original GJS retro would be a good project , the 1980 ones flex to hell....as long as you can keep the donor frame straight & true when doing the headtube it should be tres c00l.

I'll run the idea by Kneph & see what other retro frames can be mimmicked in this manner....

FWIW , unless your going to run chrome handgrips , I'd opt for chrome handlebars rather than black bars.

Black frames with only chrome/polished parts are a hard act to balance out if you are going for the early 1980's look....
The stickers might inspire you to add 1 or 2 annodised colour piece.
