Is anyone else anxious to see a retro quad in something other than SE baby blue?
Don't get me wrong....this blue is the all-time coolest color ever used on a BMX bike in my opinion. But I have to be honest....I'm ready to see it in a different color.
Am I alone?

i think that for the retro-quad project, since it was only being offered in one color baby blue was the best color for it.
however it wouldnt have been my first choice if there were other choices so yes another color would be nice.

When I seen this topic "Baby Blue Burnout" I was thinking people are geting burntout of them totally thats why theres so many for sale now. lol. I want one but I`m not paying $400 for a frame. I`ll do the $400 with forks or $350 frame only. imo I don`t think they`re going to be a big collectable unless they are the low vin frames. It`s like the Redline, Mongoose, and Haro anniversery bikes.
Anyway, when I get one it`s going to look like my big one. I have a SX PitQuad that I`m building like it so now I need the in between. lol.

I personally don't have a desire to own baby blue, brown or camo items. So of course I would like different colors, but it certainly does say SE when it's baby blue.
I think Lou's Cruiser in White & Blue is
I think you may have to be patient and SE & TL will come out with some different flavors for ya.

The only baby blue burnout I'm having is that you would think that BLACK is the only other color that goes with it.
Hey Lou, you need to make friends with your local SE dealer. I paid less than $400 for the Quad frame, raw LG's, and even with the powder coating, I came in under 4 bills.
And better yet, I HAVE MINE!
I have a feeling with the frames being marked with 07 in the serial number, we may have another color choice NEXT year.
Then, a thread will be started in mid-march called "-insert- color- here- burnout."
I wouldn't be surprised if TL starts a thread later this year..."What color for next year's looptail Quad?"

I would if there is one. Orlando is a dead town for BMX. Some rich corporate "Davids Cycyle World" is plentyfull here. Even there they only have a handfull BMX Haros at each store.
After posting that earlier post I recieved a phone call telling me to stop looking for that low price because I will be taken care of

The only baby-blue burnout I'm having is waiting for the boat from Taiwan to appear and lay an egg. I'm sitting on a bikes worth of parts and no frame.

Yes Gooser it could be worse.
What if we still wore bellbottoms that constantly got wound up in the chain? grown men laying on the ground helplessly attached to a bicycle. oh the shame and horror.

April 1st still appears to be the day. Are you "fools' getting ready?
Capt. Nemo
Mar 19 2007, 08:23 AM
April 1st is a Sunday, so unless Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny are delivering them, the only "fools" will be the ones looking on their front porch or at their SE dealer for them that day.

I had an email from Todd last week regarding the frames and he said that they will be shipped to dealers mid April.

Slow boat FROM China?
Maybe customs thought they were some exotic new weapon?
Maybe Taiwan ran outta baby blue paint since SO many new school bikes have seemed to jump on SE's bandwagon. ( Redline, Hoffman, McNiel, Crupi, Stolen, Shadow, and on and on...)

Maybe they decided they should put that weld at the seatstays and seatmast?
Capt. Nemo
Mar 19 2007, 03:39 PM
God, I hope not! Isn't that the place the old ones used to crack?
That would be like extending the seatmast on the retro PK!

Mar 20 2007, 12:11 AM
No, they used to crack where the small tube came down from the top of the head tube, and connected to the top tube in the middle...

Sprinter, I know that's where my Reynold's Quad cracked! Didn't know the loop's had the same problem.
I just remember a local cracking his looptail at the spot where the seat stays were welded to the seattube where they passed it. It was the weld the cracked, not the actual tube. And it was more like the tube "seperating" from the frame, than an actual crack.

I recieved an email from Todd as well in a reply from the SE Bikes site in regards to a tentative ship date. The frames should be sent to dealers April 12th. I will be putting it together immediatly following pick up.

Capt. Nemo, that's all I've ever seen crack the 531 Reynolds frames... My looptail went thru he|| and back with 3 burly racers, and and a few guys after that... Only thing ever happened to it was the brake bridge got smashed from overtightening brakes...

The guy that cracked his looptail was a MONSTER. This guy would get 3 feet of air off a curb! We had a jump that most of us would get 2-3 feet of air off of. This guy would get 5-6 feet and come down like a ton of lead. I saw him chopper a pair of LG's on that jump. He would go straight up, and come straight down. Not much for distance, but killer airtime. Crazy...
