I've seen some vintage looking retro builds lately that really have me stoked. For example, that white Redline completely blew me away or the 07 OM Flyer. Very inspiring.

What are your most vintage looking retro parts that are also readily available or instock.

For example--
*Slam bars look great. Always in stock.
*Retro ProNeck looks great. Doesn't appear to be in stock anywhere?
*threadless Bottema's, limited run not readily available from a supplier?
*Snap necks and cranks. Appear to be readily available from vendor.

I'm thinking about building a totally retro bike out of a very early 80s frame. I want it to look as completely early 80s as possible yet nothing vintage to that era but the frame. I want to use parts that can easily be ordered from current suppliers.

The result being a unique, new technology bike that can be heavily ridden without the vintage level money.

What are your favorite parts?

Anyone making very slender or ovalized threadless forks?

Brew has the Sting style, but I'm thinking more Tange TRX or Skyway TA style.

Another retro question:

How close does the DURO JUMPER tire look to a Comp II? It's hard to tell if they have that rugged intensity of a Comp II in the Dan's Comp picture.

Anyone know of a very close knock off to the Comp II tread pattern?
The Demolition and Maxxis tires are close but they just don't have that "look" in person.

I have to agree with the knight bars. I just grabbed a set for my om and they are rad as hell. I also have to say that if you email retro, Paul has some stems in stock. I have to give props to Lou for that one. Great guy he is. Thanks to him I grabbed one of them as well and they are really nice. Plus I didnt know it can be inverted as well.

The Tioga Factory MX is good, cheap and reminds me of an old Comp II but with a little smaller knobs.
Dan's has them
