Are these available yet and if so who has one? I would like to hear your thoughts on the bike.

Also, Is there any plans for a retro looptail version in the future like the new quad and pk?
Capt. Nemo
I have one waiting for me at my LBS. I'm just tryin' to scrape together the money to buy it. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but it looks sweet. It will be my new race bike this year. It came in about 2 weeks before christmas. I had a choice between picking it up, or the new OM. I went with the OM first.

As far as a retro looptail version...
1azbikeman
I have one sitting in my shop I am going to buy and put black tuffs on it. I think it will look really retro! I may even decide to race it this year. Anyone out there in AZ in over 45 class?
84pk
I was thinking black tuffs also. Gotta wait for the "T" spokes or graphites and maybe an old sticker set too.
Tony S.
I am going to order one on Saturday. The LBS said they are available now.
I will probably just cruise around on mine.
Todd Lyons
Yes, Floval completes & frames are available. No plans on a looptail Floval, though. Hmmmm, but now that I think about it, OM? Ya never know what we've got in store here at SE....
84pk
Todd, it seems like the demand for an old school looptail floval is really high. Not to mention that they cost more than most can afford, like the looptail quad. I think the 07 Floval will meet some of that demand but I am sure alot of SE fans here would like to see a looptail retro version.

Anybody else besides me and the Captain???
seracingman
Yes bring back the loop tail FLOVAL FLYER and the OM !
npsarider
they ride great right out of the box. the only thing i didnt like are the pedals and that it has a freewheel.i changed the pedals and all is good.everybody that has rode it loved it .
Todd Lyons
NPSA,
Are you referring to the Floval? What style of pedals do you prefer? Just curious...
Capt. Nemo
I usually switch out the pedals on mine also. I like the Odyssey JC pedals. Lots of color choices, and comfy too.

I'll be putting a set of ltd. edition autumn camo ones on my '07 Floval that I've been saving for this baby blue beauty.
Tony S.
I am picking mine up on Monday. Now if it would just stop snowing.....
npsarider
sorry nothing wrong with the pedals i just like to run crupi rounds .its an 07 floval flyer
Tummler415
Saw 2 dudes ripping on them at Silver Dollar NAtionals in Reno a few weeks back.
Flovals have always killed, in my opinion

(I'm staying with my 1982 FF though)
Tony S.
The bike shop called today to tell me my Floval was there. I am out of town until Friday but will be going to pick it up as soon as I get back.
willie0127
Retro looptails, Floval & OM, Yea Yea Yea !!!!!

You can't even think of finding an original F&F for under a grand these days, I've been looking
84pk
Tony, Please give us an update when you pick up your floval.
Tony S.
Picked up my 07 Floval today and I am quite pleased with it. Very nice looking bike and it rides great. I am 5'9" and it seems like it fits perfect. I'm looking forward to getting it out on some trails when it warms/dries up.

Can't beat it for less than 400 out the door
Here are some pictures I took just after prying off all the reflectors...Felt like I was 13 again

"How do you keep your kitchen floor so clean?"
My three year old son won't let that happen around here
Capt. Nemo
What a sweet lookin' bike, eh? I want to pick mine up RIGHT NOW!!

But the wallet says two more weeks.

How does the chrome forks look? Ive read the chrome isn't that quality but when I asked for someone to post a pic no one ever did.
Tony S.
The chrome looks OK, not quite what it used to be BITD. It is pretty thin on the edges of the dropouts.
Hudson
Thats a nice bike....i wouldn't mind owning one of those. I wonder if the sales of Loop Quad will be at a level where SE would do a loop floval. That would sell boatloads i'd imagine.

Any plans for a loop floval from SE? Todd?
Todd Lyons
We "MIGHT" have another Looptail added to the SE family for '08. But I didn't say it was or was not the Floval. And keep in mind that I said MIGHT.....

SWEEEEEEEEEEEET

I am
And waiting for a loop floval
tread
Hey Tony, how does it ride? I'm on a 07 haro sr24 now and it is way too long for me.... I have been thinking of one of these for awhile now.
mike
Tony S.
I think it rides great for the limited time I rode around on it, roomy but I dont feel stretched out at all.
I am not the greatest judge as this is my first 24" bike. It feels like riding a 20" to me compared to the midschool Profile 24 I rode that belongs to a buddy of mine as that bike has a 23" top tube. I felt like I was riding my 26" Mountain bike when I was on it.
jerry a hutcher
wow it looks sweet..nice old logos to boot!
Spicoli
that's a killer lookin bike

Tony, thanks for the post. Any mods planned for that scoot ?
tread
I just ordered one today....

No problem at all. As far as mods go I cant leave anything stock for too long. I was thinking of maybe using some of the lt. blue Shadow grips, bar ends and mothballing the SE pieces for the future maybe changing the pedals but I need to get the last couple of things to finish off my retro quad first.

Way to go tread...you are going to love it.
bmxbuzz
2008 may have one other looptail? Do them all as looptails, and stand out from all of the other bikes.
1azbikeman
Just got my Tuff wheels put on the new Floval I think it looks pretty cool! Ready to go try it out on the track

tread
That is sweet! Mine should be here Monday, I've got a few things too change out on it!
Do the tuffs flex at all?
Mike
Tony S.
Looks awesome Randy! I wish I could even think about riding mine. it's -1 here with a -25 wind chill.....The weather went in the crapper the day after I brought mine home.
1azbikeman
I have been so busy that I havn`t ridden it on the track Mike but I will let you know about the stiffness. I havnt ridden Tuffs too much at all and am looking forward to it. They seem as light as alloys just riding on the street though. Post some pics when you guys get a chance would like to see what you change out.
Aggrodad
anybody know the top tube length? the frame looks kinda low profile. How would the Floval compare to the Redline proline cruiser for a 6'4" person? I love the Floval's looks and the baby blue color, but I'm kinda wondering if it's big enough my lanky self.
tread
I noticed the MSRP went up to $450.00!

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd post a pic of my Floval that I've been working on for a little while.

Changed out the bottom bracket, cranks, chainwheel, chain, pedals, stem, grips, barends and brake levers so far.

Hope you like it.

I paid $400 ( MSRP ) for my '03 Floval when it was new. The '07, for 50 bucks more, is WELL worth it.

I would be picking mine up today, but I'm in the same boat as Tony S. -35 windchill doesn't give me any incentive to leave the house unless I have to. I should have mine by the weekend, though, and hitting the indoor track with the kids on sunday.

Can't wait!
tread
I still got it for the $400.00 which is a really great price for all that you get with it. I hope it's here today, been a long weekend awaiting it. I have some parts just waiting for it.
Rad indoors this weekend in SLC so I can give you all a report on how it handles.
mike
tread
I changed a few things on it.
S&M Race bars black
S&M XLT stem nickel

Snafu seat tan

S&M 101 Pedals brown

3 cheers for S&M bars! those things feel sooo good on a cruiser.
Gooser
Here's my beef with the new Floval: 21" top tube is just too small for a cruiser. I like them comparitively short, at 21.5"--I had a Specialized hemi 24 that had a 22.5 TT, it was like you had to dial ahead to raise the front end. But 21 feels cramped on a cruiser. I would've bought one instead of my Staats if they had a 21.5 model. If they're only going to make one frame size, I think a 21.5 TT will please more of the people more often than a 21.
Capt. Nemo
Hey tread, why buy the complete? Shoulda just picked up the frame and fork if you were gonna swap out all the parts.
tread
I found a frame fork on Ebay but it was $280.00. Complete was $400.00 and i now have spare parts for another build.

I raced it at Rad Canyon indoors tonight. Rides very well, lot's of compliments on it as well. I will post a pic in the morning.
