Although I've seen the pics/video from Interbike and the one on the SE site, I'd love to see some nice detailed pics of the actual bike from those that have one already.
Thanks!

I'm going out to take some shots right now. I'm still in the stone age using film, so it may be a few days before pics are posted...

It's not an OM FLYER, it an '07 DJ FLYER. Does it count?

This is my favorite bike right now...

I saw it at Interbike, took my picture with the OM in front of it as a matter of fact. All you can see are the blue tires in the pick. It was nurse betty white, I also saw the limited loop tail quad. They were incredible!

Hey Capt. Nemo,
Is that new OM totally "stock"?
It actually looks pretty decent and is way more BMX looking then the past few years OMs that I've seen. Good luck with that, I wish I could check one out somewhere, but I don't think any shops in NYC stock them.

I wasn't going to change it, but I couldn't resist a few mods.
-added a little more blue anno with the pedals and stem.
-changed the bars to something a little more old school. Now a bar pad should fit when they become available.

What do you OM Flyer owners think of the gearing? Does it feel too easy? I rode mine down to the beach this last weekend and it felt a bit easy. It's a 39-18. If you think it's too easy, should I go 1 up in the front? Or 1 down in the back? This is in regards to the bike for 2008. Thanks!
Capt. Nemo
Feb 26 2007, 11:17 PM
Todd, I took mine for a little cruise around when the temps were decent, and I thought the gearing was a little easy, too. I think its OK for just cruisin' around, but I'm not sure about takin' it to the track, or even sprinting around town.
One more tooth either way couldn't hurt. What was the gearing on the '04? I like that alot.

Feb 26 2007, 11:27 PM
It was 41-18. So maybe I'll either do the 41-18 again or 39-17. Both will basically be the same. Thanks Capt.

Here is mine. I have flights but am waiting for pedals before I slap them on. Mine had this weird yellow defect in the paint on the top tube where it meets the head tube. Inside you can hardy see it, outside it is bright as day. Anyone else know what this could be? I thought maybe grease from when they installed the headset that sat and discolored the paint? I dont know. Anyway here is mine:

that's stock!
wow, i guess I'm not very up to date but I didn't think there were completes out there of that caliber, other than maybe a Redline. very retro attractive, too!
May I ask the price range on completes like what you guys show above?
Capt. Nemo
Feb 27 2007, 12:10 PM
MSRP is $470. I paid a little less than that.

Untill I find another set of bars that are taller, I need them like that for reach. Yeah I got mine for 430. Not a bad price for it at all. I think I paid more for my 06 om.

See Mark, that's why I'm an SE fan forever and always!
They weren't nearly as bad as some people around here would of led you to believe when Fuji bought the brand. It was like the world ended... And with Todd in charge it just keeps looking better and better. Even noticed a few of the old SE is dead posters talking up the new SE here and there...
I think if you take a long hard look at the SE Bikes site, they have some very complete bikes, for great prices. There were very VERY few completes I would of ridden stock bitd, and I think SE has more in their lineup right now that a guy could buy, leave stock, and be totally happy riding.- Tim

well it took me all winter to nickel and dime a Standard cruiser together. And other than the awesome American workmanship on the frame, I'd have been probably more pleased with this model for much less money.
Why don't you buy a complete, Tim, so i can try it out!
I've discovered on these new bikes I like the shorter TT on a cruiser, do they offer something under 21"?

Hey Willie here,
Just wanted to show you guys a couple of shots of "my" OM
I am demonstrating how I broke my paw. I was doing a front wheel hopp when my hind paw slipped off the pedal causing my front paw to slip off the grip and I hit the pavement, doing a face plant and breaking my paw.
I get out of my cast in two weeks and can't wait to get back riding.
I have done a few things to this new OM to make it more my style. I added Maxxis 2.50 Hookworms because I do mostly urban prowling, added Primo pedals and took off the derailuer hanger and replaced it with some chain tensioners.
I broke out the die grinder eariler today and removed the UGLY & UNeeded extra cable guides, this is supposed to be a single speed bmx style bike isn't it?
Well not to bad so far.
I am lucky I was riding this "Nurse Betty White" colored OM as I had help on the spot for my injuries.
Bark at ya later,
Willie

Hey Willie, what did you do with the OG blue gumwalls that came with that bike? Those are gonna be highly sought after in a couple of years when owners wear out the stock tires.

Jeez, my brain doesn't work sometimes! I'm on the OM Flyer above. NOT the Floval. Duh. The pads are some early samples.
Below is the photo I meant to post. It's got a bit more of the old-school MX flavor.

Seeing as how I got tired of waiting around for the Quad to show up (and the fact that I work next door to a bike shop that deals SE), PLUS the other fact that they had to hang it in the damn window (so that I would walk by it 5x a day), I finally walked in and rode out with this one yesterday:

Took it out for a good ride today, and while I haven't really ridden a 26" in a loooong time, I dig the ride!
Blue & white are two of my least favorite colors, and a big part of me wants to get rid of all the blue, but I'm keeping it all stock.
Not gonna be easy, but it rides SMOOTH right out of the box!
I have a feeling I am gonna kill those blue gumwalls really quick though as this thing is soooooo fun to powerslide with!
The seat looked a bit dorky to me at first, but all you gotta do is SIT ON IT and man...it's a whole new world...
The forks kind of weirded me out cuz of all the "travel", but definitely keep those front binders on cuz this thing hauls (and the forks look more streamlined this way as well).
There are braze-on cable guides & derailleur mounts all over this thing, and the rear hub looks like it could accomodate up to 7 speeds as well - is anyone gonna run this with gears/are there any being built/set up this way factory or otherwise?
I suggest you all get one of these...
