Just for the record, I m NOT complaining. Just trying to give an accurate depiction of the frame. I don't think not welding the seatstays to the seatmast has anything to do with it flexing. I believe the twin downtubes have at least some role in the flex. When you're on the gate and "torquing" on the pedals, the area around the seatstay/seatmast doesn't move at all. It's basically the whole front end doing the flexing.
If anyone can post a pic for me it would be appreciated.
That being said, I will state again that this is one of the coolest rides ever! Thanks TL.

Report from the road:
Had a balmy 20 degree day so went out for a long ride.
The bike is very nimble and likes to track straight. Not squirrely whatsoever. Feels like it would be a stable jumper on the track.
Manualing isn't in my ability range so I couldn't tell you if it likes to manual or not. [I didn't feel like laying flat on my back in the cold today!]
I was unable to feel any BB flex on the road. All heavy cranking went into forward movement. I definitely was NOT able to cause the chain to make any noise whatsoever.
It's easy to bunnyhop. Even being long, I'm pretty sure I could hop a trashcan laying on it's side.
Wheelies are comfortable but you can feel the length of the front end when it's in the air.
I'm very pleased so this baby is definitely getting yellow powder in the spring.
I tried to capture an eagle or two soaring in the air but I see it didn't work out.
cheers!

I forget what size seatpost clamp I'll need for the 25.4 post...

I believe they call that a 1inch seat clamp. which would make sense since 25.4mm is exactly 1 inch.

You'll need a 1-1/8" clamp but the frames come with a black seat clamp included so unless you're not happy with the color you won't need to purchase a clamp

Uhh...the one I got never had a clamp with it.

They don't come with a free clamp.
But Dugga is right about the 1 1/8.
I double checked danscomp.com to confirm what I ordered.
Here's the style I think would be smokin on the quad.

well yah made me look.
Must just be TL playing favorites with the boys down under, or shall I say.....nice score!
Are 25.4mm seat tubes an unusual size in Australia?

Mine had no clamp as well, as I just re-verified by digging all the packing out of the original box for a second time...
saw this brought up last night before bed. so i went down in the basement where my SE quad box is......................no seat post clamp.

It was on the frame in the box. This is a pic straight out of the box. It's no big deal.

We have all the same bikes you guys do over there. So if it's unusual for you guys, same down here. I have a Merida Moto Cruiser and had to track down a Merida dealer for the seatclamp. It seams there are way too many different sizes these days!

My frame came straight out of the the box, no seat post clamp. What number is yours Matt? Maybe the first 50 didn't come with a clamp?

No clamp on mine. Wouldn't have used it anyway.

Hmm. Chromo looptail quads may be in SE's lineup, but they're not in mine, yet. Missed having my frame for the opener at my local track this weekend...hoping to have it by the Reedley national next weekend. I'm starting to think it's a myth...maybe it'll be delivered from Taiwan by magic cookie-making elves riding unicorn pegasus ponies.

TL, you've got a marketing success underway.
Stopped at the skate park yesterday to mess around a bit.
The kids kept asking my buddy what kind of bike that was.
So I struck up a conversation with em. Eventually most of the kids took a spin or three over the box jump and all thought it was cool.
They can't seem to remember the name Quad Angle, though.
Today I stopped by the park on my cruiser, a bunch of the kids came up to tell me to go home and get that "other" bike.
What I find humorous is they think the quad is really light (compared to their ramp bikes).
I'll have to take the 21.5lb Sting down one of these days and see how they handle that. he he

It's an SE what did you expect Mark? It was that way BITD as well, it was always easy to meet new people riding a Quadangle...

I guess your right, a guy our age came clear out of his house yesterday as I was passing by to ask if I was riding a Quadangle.

I just cancelled my Quad and PK orders with Streit's bike shop where Retro Dave used to be. You should be able to call DJ down there and get your name on the list. (352) 377-2453.

its funny how there are 309 not spoken for but i never got mine I paid for it thru retro dave , he sent me the forks, I called the bike shop in which they were ordered and they have no recollection of me on the list. and now dave is gone, last mail I got from him he said he was on it, I doubt I will ever see that frame.

This kills me. I'm hoping my frame will come in today, since I'm on the West Coast (represent!) and it'll take an extra time compared to those on the East Coast or in the Midwest. I'm hoping to get the bike together in time for a NBL state race this weekend.
And now chuckleheads are selling frames already! I just want to race, man.
