I have an old can of metalflake candy apple red acrylic lacquer...And some Dupont "Chroma-clear" eurathane clearcoat..
I was thinking of shining up the metal on an unpainted frame and spraying all this over it..I think it will look cool..
Will these paints stick to the bare metal good??

I had a trick star way back when that I stripped and painted raw with a candy red car paint (rattle can touch up color). It had a cool anodized look to it and was pretty durable, but I didn`t clean the frame well and it showed all the blemishes through the paint.

General rule with painting onto metal.
It's all in the amount & quality of the "prep" work you do _before_ you lay down the colour.
As JeffB mentioned , he didn't clean degreas , de wax , de silicon , de everthing all the invisble gunk off the bare metal from the frame with some thinners or "Prepsol" or whatever you should be using.
A base coat of primer let it dry then sand it back using higher grit wet & dry sandpaper , the more you repeat this part the better the end result will be.
When all the _hard_ work is done , take you time to leisurely lay the colour down , wet the floor of the room your painting in & apply lots of thin even coats
from every angle possible.
The more effort you put in the better the end result will be. Reading & following the directions/guidelines on each rattle can be _very_ useful as well.
