I'm trying to take my spindles out of my Profile horseshoe pedals, and the bolt that keeps the spindle in the pedals is stripped. Any way of getting this small bolt off ?

You may be able to clamp some small vice grips around the edge of the stripped bolt, and give it a turn. If you can get enough clamping surface this will work. The vice grips will probably have to be the small needle nose type. Good luck.

I'm not familiar with those pedals, but is there access for a drill? If so, you can drill the head off the bolt, then after the spindle is removed, you can use vise grips to remove the rest of the bolt.

Can you get a Hack saw blade in there? If so put a slot in it and use a screwdriver. Do not pot the slot all the way just enough to get the screwdrivwe in it. Good luck.. Z

Use a Torx Bit socket similar in size.
You may have to tap on it with a hammer to force it into the recess of the allen head screw.

or...
you will probably wreck the washer, but you could file some flats on the edges of the bolt and get it out with a regular open-end wrench.
i just did that in a similar situation.

Get a dremel with the largest cut off wheel that will. Cut a line across the bolt so that you can use a flat head. That piece is easily replacable.

Hey Surf, nice pick up!!! The Pro Champ must be getting close now!!! I would soak it in wd40, then do what germ says...Good luck with the pedal repair!

She's almost there 84. I just picked up some Hutch Pro Bars for her.(since Profile bars are a pain to find) Need a rear brake set up, tires and tubes, and the parts need will be done.
Then comes the complete restore of all the parts aquired that need restoring.

Automotive store...they have the bolt-removal kits there. Cheap too.

It'll help to spray some penetrating fluid on it and let it soak like 84 Profile mentions. Penetrating fluid works a little better than WD-40 at loosening bolts. Make the cut just deep enough to fit a flat head into. Be careful you don't make the line too deep because you'll break the head off the bolt when you turn it and then you're really "screwed".....Pun intended

Awesome can't wait to see it!
Another little trick someone told me around here is to add a little heat...I had to get the cage screws out of some xc-2 pedals and I just got a lighter and heated them up a little and they came straight out!
I've tried the ezy out bolt removers and they are quite hit an miss (although it could be my skills) it is extremely important to drill the pilot hole dead centre...personally I would leave that option till last...good luck dude!
