I am not talking about those on some magazines years ago but actually riding some of them, whether new, old, popular, unknown or straight bizarre.

I tried today a set of Panaracer Freestylers 1.75 in pink on my Street Beat..
What a piece of crap!

The looks and quality of manufacturing are ofcourse killer, they're perfect for a build but as for actual riding.. (tried on flatland) forget it.
Whereas some people find the oval/high profile in a tire very useful and versatile, i find it annoying. These tires won't TURN! And they feel bigger diameter. Whether it's Hang fives in tight circles or some fast scuffs in circles none of them will work until you really tilt your bike and lean in steep angle, only then they will start turning quicker.
The "problem" is in the type of profile on the tire and the height. The profile's not round, it's more like oval, think about the head of an egg and since it's slightly higher than your average 1.75 tire they feel like riding 20½" tires, lol!

As for the tread pattern, well - it's cool looking, there is no arguing but they make the tires feel mushy and slow even at 100PSI. They also seem to wear down really fast cause the pattern is basicly just bunch of thin lines crossing. Example, imagine riding with tires with ODI MUSHROOM pattern...

The only good thing i can think of are the brite colors and the looks. This sounds like a rant, which it is, sorry for yealling but i'm not happy at all on how they perform on ground though i had high expectations for them. Shame really.

The looks can be deceiving.

More tire evaluations to come, stay tuned..

just looking at the tread pattern on those - are they meant to be directional?
If so, are they back to front?

Those tires look good, but I agree with you about the feel. Not only that, but I remember bitd they wore down extremely fast.

They're multi-directional if that's what you mean? i.e. there's no specified direction and even if there were it wouldn't have no effect on how they perform/feel (obviously).
