ive never used one of these before but I somewhat seem to know how to adjust one, but heres the problem the brake pads keep touching the wheel even before I adjust it.

so if I even try to adjust it then the brake pads make full contact with the wheel when I try to adjust the cable anchor, the brake doesnt seem to open enough to allow enough space to adjust it. im using mag wheel's of course, but could someone please explain to me how I can get this to work with the mags?

you may need to try using thinner brake pads.

mags are wider than most rims were when that brake was designed (and mags were not that common then, either).

i used to run into your problem at the shop BITD, but i foget what pads i would switch to.

I have one here that I used with Z rims for a while.

I had to remove some of the nylon block to let the arms spread wider.

Ill try and post some pix later. I cant remember what the nylon block looked like before, but I can show you how to make it look after. .....

Basically you remove the nylon area that keeps the wedge from dropping all the way down. It will still work normally for thinner rims later if you adjust it back up tighter.

Actually, I am not sure this is what you wanted.

You said Pitbull 1....THese are PB IIs. I have no idea what the difference is...

Maybe it helps, maybe not....I tried...

Cut the nylon to look like this...

Then the wedge drops farther.

Try adjusting where the cable bolts to the cam? This way the arms can open a little further. I never had any problem on my '90 Dyno Detour with GT mags and Pitbull 1 brakes.
