First a little history:
I purchased my first ever euro bb frame (aluminum) a year ago. When I purchased it I also purchased a new euro bb that had steel cups. It wasn't easy getting the cups to thread in but I managed.
Now just recently I bought another new frame (chromoly) with a euro bb. I removed the cups from the first frame and noticed they went on a smooth as butter but on the opposite side of the bb on the new frame.
Did I cross-thread the bb on my first frame? If so can it be fixed?

Thanks,
John

A good shop will have the tool you need....had to use one once. If you can't find one bud, bring it to Hampton tomorrow and I will take it to the shop in Richmond that hooked me up.

Thanks Joel and Evan. I was worried I had an expensive paper weight. I will bring the frame to the track tomorrow Joel.

If all else fails and the threads are shot, tap it Italian (if the shell is not to thin) and put an italian threaded BB on it. Standard roadie trick back in the day.

Not to sound ignit, but do you think it is possible the BB was welded on backward thus the difference in the intall of the cups.. I know that sometimes you have to chase a aluminum BB prior to install which explains the install being tight. But if they went in easy in the steel frame I don't think you stripped the threads
