With the help from my mate. today we built a rim sanding machine out of a Hoover Floor polisher. Its spins the rim and you just hold the sandpaper on it . Works like a charm. 5-10mins for a rim at the most. Next challenge will be to add an arm to hold the paper so you can just leave it to do its work automatically.

Great idea Waza!
What with your blasting and anodising, now rim restoring, what's next?
A production line - in one end worn out and sad, and out the other end restored to perfection.
All you need now is a team of Oompa Loompas to do the work for ya!!!

PS Shouldn't be hard for someone of your obvious ability to rig up a spring loaded arm holding some wet and dry - hey you could even drip feed it some water to keep the job smooth as...
