I can't stand Dia-comps idea of a barrel adjuster for front 990's. This is all that came in the box, so I hope I'm using it right. The cable is at such a bad angle, where it comes thru to go to the pinch bolt, that the brakes are hard to pull. I greased the area, but it should not have that kink in it.
Who makes a good front 990 with a regular barrel adjuster?

I know this isn't what you asked but here's my solution. Use forks with no 990 mounts and buy a V-brake adapter plate and bolt it on. I use a cheap V brake. You need to find ones that have the arms angled slightly inwards. The Vbrake noodle turns the corner perfectly. I buy left side Vbrake levers for cheap because sometimes shops (especially mail order) take right's from a set and chuck the left one. Best front brakes ever!

Just buy a noodle on its own, I got one from the spares drawer of a local shop for £1. OK so you might not have the adjuster, but it still works much better than that mushroom and barrel thing.

ok when i ran the fs990 i had it setup using a regular barrel adjuster thing off some cheap tektros off the otherside, then i use a narp from a set of evolvers, it worked realy well minus i forgot to get th right bolt for the back and never got around to it, ohwell thats not relevant to you, but the other suggestion i have is get a evolvers part kit and use the piece they supply to work with a front brke, again though it will require some dremelling or filing or whatnot, although may i suggest you actually do file that open a bit more, to get a little more movement at that point.
and guessing by the tire, it's a flatbike so v brakes would be bad bad news. also in my oppinion they look retarted up front, and are are just to damn inpractical on a bmx, minus race bikes in the back.

Thanks guys. Stained Skin BMXer is hooking me up with a part that should help. I also got a few ideas on making my own barrel adjuster from some left over parts.
I'm also gonna check with the L.B.S. to see if they have any noodles. I'll post pics if this contraption works.
