hey guys --

can anyone tell me anything about this company "kalin"? i've got an old layback seatpost by them, and was wondering if they were one of those companies that actually manufactured stuff for other bike companies to sell under their own name -- like a contract manufacaturer. did gt make their own laybacks back in the early 80's?

thanks!

I think they manufactured handlebars also, in my best understanding the same way as Kalloy, Lee Chi and Anlun they were Taiwanese manufacturers. I don't think GT had them make anything especially in the 80s when even its satellite companies like Powerlite and Robinson for instance had everithing made in the good ol' USA.

I've got a set of Haro Kneesaver 2 bars that were made by Kalin. I'm pretty sure they have been a pretty big contract company for major bike companies for a long time.
