I have these 2 Redline frames, ones a Proline and the other a 600a. Both arent too bad but now i am not sure weather to leave them as they are, or powder them both white as I had planned to.
Your thoughts?

Cool, Ive scored a Redline recently also, disguised as a later GT. Planning to just shine it up and get some PL20 decals. I vote for chrome.

I'm in the same boat Yasser. I have a Carrera II that the chrome is not too bad overall, but has a couple of bits that are flaking - not sure to clean up and add the new decals as a survivor or get re-chromed!!

Yasser
Very similar looking frames we have Paul, bridge across the chainstay and no gusset behind the seatpost tube in between the seat stay? Whats your serial no like?
Frostie
Can't remember the serial, but it is a Carrera II the decals that are on it are the same as in the ad and the top set in the pics below

It has the bridge the same as yours and does not have the gusset behind the seat tube where the seat stays meet. I think there is some discussion elsewhere on the site about the gusset etc and the years when it was introduced.

Reece, Why don't you try and polish up the best one and powder the other? just a thought...

Yeah I just have to find some redline forks for the 600a, but I am thinking i'd really like to powder the Proline

You've got two, so how about one chrome and one powder?

Too many people getting away from chrome. I like survivors, so I would leave the Proline chrome, powder the 600.

White Redlines look SO good. Just screams BMX to me. But I know the dilemma. I've got chrome frames that make me so sad because they just look
old. But replating a frame that's already chrome seems expensively redundent, or reduntently expensive....

Tough choice. I'm thinking with the right advice and hard work they would shine up to almost new.

Powder is cheaper than chrome.

I had a Redline MXIII chrome frame and fork that was pitted and flaking.
I didn't want to spend a lot of money on it so I go it powdered white for about $65 AUD.

LOVE that look!! The MXIII's were great for both racing and freestyle. With that shallow seatmast angle you could do barspins w/o having to run a layback.

I'm sad that I passed on one I ebay awhile back. It went for too low, and they don't pop up very often.

Beautiful scoot, Andy.

Thanks mate.

It was the least expensive build for me.
I used mostly parts I had laying around.

It also has original Redline vinyl snap pads and a Haro Series One on it now.
