We discussed this in another thread but I thought it would be easier to search for in it's own thread.
Suggestions:

Spindle Bolt:
3/8 - 16x3/4
Pinch Bolt:
1/4-20x1/2
Drive Bolt:
5/16-18x1/2
raybeard
spindle bolts - 3/8-16 x 3/4 button head cap screws chrome plated
spindle lock washers - 3/8 split ring chrome plated
spindle flat washers - 3/8 -13/16 OD chrome plated
pinch bolts - 1/4-20 x 1/2 knurled socked head cap screw chrome plated
sprocket bolts - custom Redline part
I got everything in the mail today and test fitted. It all looks awesome and fits perfect with the exception of the flat washers. They are a hair too big. If you have a grinder you could probably take the edge off but I'll be ordering the correct size tomorrow.
This is what looks like it will fit correctly:
spindle flat washers - 3/8 - 3/4 OD chrome plated
Also, my first order was for 10 pieces, not sets so with the two I'm keeping that leaves 3 sets left. KIW has dibs so PM me and let me know what you want. I'll order more if the demand is there.
$10-12 shipped for a set, depending which coast you live on. I'm in GA.

These are old-school style bolts that fit the newer Proline cranks? If so... two sets needed here!

If Proline can use the old 401 style hardware then yes, it's the same. I've never had Prolines so I wouldn't know for sure.
I'll make the call today to order 10 more sets. Looks like you guys will use them up pretty quick.

Update:
I finally got to the hardware store last night, on the way home from work, and verified that the 3/8 x 3/4 OD flat washers were the ones that fit.
I faxed in the order this morning (Sat). Not sure if they are open today. I had them send it to one of my offices that was very close to them, then I can have it inter-officed back to my office. Hopefully that'll speed up delivery so I can get these to you guys a lil faster.
I'll post back as soon as everything comes in and send out your set KIW.
Thanks,
Trey

Update:
Good news: Parts came in.
Bad news: They shipped the same 3/8 x 13/16 flat washers. So now I have 10 extra.
I called and they said that was all they had. The next size down was 3/8 x 5/8 and that is too small.
The washers are .36 each so I'll knock off $1 to make it right. You can go to your local Ace Hardware and get the washers you need. They have a Chrome nuts and bolts section.
Good news is that all the other parts are perfect.
I have 13 sets total and 13 are "spoken" for.

Also, CW dug this up on the material the parts are made of:
quote:
Trey,
after a lil investigation, scm435 is a high grade japanese cromoly. scm probably stands for steel chrome molybdenum. and the 435 is alloy configuration regarding carbon content. you know how the best bmx parts carry hardware that would be a grade 8?(aircraft) well scm435 is apparently grade 12.9. pretty awesome... so yeah, i'll take a set. lmk how to pay ya and how much. tks, cw

Where did you get them? Are you getting more? I was going to go to the local industrial supply store and get some stainless button heads, and allen head, but I'd rather have the chrome.
TreyS
Aug 23 2006, 08:44 PM
To be honest you can go to your local ACE Hardware and they have a chrome hardware section. It's on the nuts and bolts isle. I found this out after starting all this.
I got my stuff from a motorcycle place in AZ that Keep It Warm referred me to, Chrome Hardware Supply. You have to buy in sets of 10 pieces.
You will pay more at the ACE place but you can get one set, which is nice. There is also a thread here called redline hardware and it has a place online that you can order from. It costs more as well but again, you can order one set at a time.
