How difficult is it to find 2nd generation Redline Flight spindle bolts (the ones that cap the cranks at the axle end)? I might buy a pair that doesn't have bolts but would pass if they're impossible to find seperately. I occassionally see the cranks sold with the bolts but almost never see just bolts for sale. --thanks.

I'm sure it is some kind of standard bolt. Redline wouldn't make custom bolts - that would be dumb and expensive.

Thanks Dave, when the laughing stops I wouldn't mind a serious answer. I'm not asking to buy them, I seriously don't know how rare they are. Last thing I want is to buy cranks and then sit around for years waiting on a pair of bolts that may never be found.

Umm - I was serious. Did Redline make custom bolts? If so, I guess the jokes on me. Still seems dumb.

The only custom bolts Redline had made were the early drive arm chainring bolts. It seems that you cannot buy a domed head nut like that with a collar on it from anyone but Redline.
I didn't bother searching the mcmaster link above.
All the other bolts for the cranks , pinch & spindle , seem to be off the shelf stuff from any good engineering supply shop.
Wallet thickness pending you should be able to get them in the High Carbon Black Grade 8 for that industrial realistic prided look or go for the $hiny $tainless $teel ones. There should also be a middle of the road tradeoff chrome plated bolts as well that usually don't rust & don't match up to the grade 8's or $$ bolts strength.
You gets whats you pays for.

Forgot one other thing , oldracer there is no need to type in all caps , if you are new to the evil internet , ALL CAPS MEANS YOU'RE SHOUTING , lower case & capital letters when they are needed (check the FAQ) , unless you are a very noisy & angry person who has hammered your keyboard & got the caps lock key busted
Lots of comma's , is OK in a post , but I too strive to be writing properly structured sentences , one day , with full stops in them , and maybe paragraphs , in all my posts , one day too. <heh>

If you know what you need, get your blingy chrome here.
www.pointe-products.com You can buy single parts. McMaster is great too, but they don't offer much chrome stuff.

Great job with the link and part #. Can't beat service like that. Do you know the part # for the pinch bolts?
Here is what part#C03-12091 at

can you get them in a cheese head for new school profiles?
-ps back in the day, i lost a spindle bolt out of my 180 flights
-had a murderous time trying to find them in london
-any way, made do with hex heads, until i swapped the 180's for 175, on the condition i got the oem bolts!!
5 feet tall and 180's didn't mix

Has anyone used these bolts from www.pointe-products.com on their Redline 401 Flight cranks?
I am looking for some bolts and found this thread. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike.
