Could someone please tell me the correct thread size and pitch of the screws that hold the cages on Suntour XC pedals. Also need a description of the original screws (philips, hex, stainless, black?).
The pedals I'm working on are missing the screws and the bodies are stripped out and I need the size and pitch to get helicoils.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Todd

Good Luck!
They are a very odd size. I attempted to find something similar a few years ago with no luck. They are metric and I beleive the pitch is non standard. There are 2 versions the first version has SUNTOUR stamped on the head the later does not. Can't remember if they were the same thread or if they are different.

Mine have an 8 or an S on the heads. Later today I will take one out and measure it for you. I also have a Starret pitch guage, but I forget whether it has metric?.....

Thanks guys.
I just need something close since I'm gonna helicoil it to the size I get anyway.
Are they stainless or black? Philips or Allen head?
Thanks,

OK
I measure 3.84 mm major thread diameter. 7.65mm head od. 2.5 mm hex wrench, 7.26mm overall length, 4.5mm grip length (Threads), and with a magnafying glass it looks like almost exactly 2 threads per 1mm, or a thread pitch of .5...

According to the machinerys handbook, it must be a 4mm fine thread, which has a thread pitch of .5mm. So a 4mm would have 2 threads in 1 mm.
It looks like an S on the head after scanning it.
Where to get them?
Does that help?

I hope I didn't goof. I took XC as meaning XC II. Were there regular XC's? (duh, musta been, but not sure if we were on the same page now?)

Get him Todd!
Ok I am not sure what made me laugh first, or which made me laugh harder?
The terse comment followed by a surreal number of rare screws,
...or the fact that you've got that "Loveboat" dude (Isaec?)for an Avitar!......
Groovy baby! lmfao!!!!!

Totally!!! Thanks a million C3. I've got those stickers here ready to send. Just shoot me your address and I'll send them out.
This thing is really close to being complete. Now, here's the question: should I post photos before getting the metal work done - which could take months - or wait?
