I bought this set of cranks from a friend. He told me the spindle was stripped, and he added some weld to 'build up' the deficiency. He said I just need to get it threaded. I'd rather just get another spindle (anybody have one for sale???) but I thought I'd try to see if anybody has ever done this and about how much it would cost me to get it done. dude i have a spindle from the flight 2 series and thety fit the "old style" (the best ones the 401's) you would need new bearings though. if you want p.m. me with a contact phone number and we can talk. the old cranks will work with the new spindle, but the hardware will not work with the new spindle. i broke my flights so i have a spindle.

The thing is, I have a new BB (looseball) for it. I just need a spindle that will work with this rig

try rini's on the left, or the bay when i went looking for a bb i could not find one and it was WAYYYY to much on the bay, so i went with the newer setup, the cool thing is it looks like the original, but if you want the OG spindle go for it, i might know someone with one, if he still has it i will tell him to get in touch. if you decide you want the one i have let me know, did i mention I BROKE MY FLIGHTS!!!!!!!!! LOL

I just bought one from Rini's and it works perfectly. I thought I'd be stuck with a twisted spindle for life. Highly recommend them.

If you want to try rethreading it yourself, tap and die sets are cheap on eBay.

..anything metal can be fixed..you'd have to measure the outside diameter of a good set of threads, turn down the weded ares to the correct diameter in a lathe, rethread it with a die, and then if you plan on actually riding the bike I would re-heat treat the spindle...it would probably be cheaper to find a new spindle..if your gonna junk it,send it to me and I'll give it a shot for ya..

I bow to rockabilly on this one. Turning it on a lathe is the proper method to achieve accurate threads.
