i have an old dyno pro compe frame. The dyno stamp on the back of the seatpost crossbar is only on the top. It is closed in the back. I have an 88 detour that was open in the back and stamps on top and bottom.

This has to be a pro compe because it has the 990 rear brakes. I cant find a serial number anywhere on it. It has been paint a few times but i think the original color was either white or deep blue.

Does anyone have any pics of a pro compe they could post. I cant remember how to tell dynos apart from year to year but i know it has something to do with that stamping on the back and the way that brace is laid out.

oh...it has the dyno "D" on the dropouts if that tells you anything

The 1st gen D-30 frames (85, very early 86) only had a single plate behind the seat tube stamped on the top.
They had a problem cracking in that area so a second plate was added on later 86 and later frames but no plate joined them together in the back. I assume that's what you mean by open in the back. I never saw a pro compe bitd so I can't comment on that.

Ya the 2 plates are joined. It isnt 2 seperate plates like on my detour.....but one curled under or joined to close off the back of the 2 plates. The front of the plates is open

No stamp on the bottom plate.

thats pretty much the bike. I couldnt tell you what color scheme they ran back then. I wish i could find it. I know they had a chrome one just like this. This one was never chrome though. Definatly paint but i cant tell the original color.

Christ i need a few sets of those dyno forks with that bend in them. I cant seem to find them anywhere.

The hardest problem on this resto is going to be to find the frame sticker set or even just the down tube one. I have found a compe one or two.....just not the pro compe. This was a very high end bike bitd so i dont imagine they sold too many and wouldnt have created alot of frame sticker sets for them.
