I'm getting an '87 Master redone. Including F/F/hbars/seatpost. It's kind of a two tone, a teal/mint color shift, it's very subtle.

OK, I just got off the phone with a company that's near my house. First of all they can't even do a color fade apparently, they just do a line. That's ok, the line will be covered by decals I think...Second, check out these prices!:

$175 total for labor
$70-80 for minimum order of two paint colors
($15 if they already have the colors, which they don't)
THEN, $50 - $60 for sandblasting!

What the crap?

Does this seem like a lot to anyone else?

Wow...
Gold plate it.

I'm not even going to say what the powdercoater here charges. It's barely enough for a Happy Meal at McDonalds - and it's good work.

That's outrageous! Go somewhere else. You could ship it somewhere for a lot less.

Sounds like a place that does bigger more commercial powder jobs. Go somewhere else or shipt it out.

I've called two other places today, here's the results:

Place #1:
$130 total PLUS the custom paint I'd have to buy ($70)
AND they can't do 2 colors
AND they don't do sandblasting, I'd have to take it somewhere else for that!

Place #2:
Couldn't give me an estimate
AND I'd have to take it somewhere else for sandblasting.
AND buy custom paint.
AND suggested I go to Maaco!!!!? I'm not even kidding.

What's going on!? It's like people around here have never heard of painting a bike! At least the first place I called has actually done bikes before, too bad I'd have to pay a fortune.

I guess I'll start looking at Prism!
