I was wondering around how much to strip and rechrome the hubs at a chrome/plating place?

I wouldnt expect it to cost all that much.
I mean you can get a frame re-chromed in Aus for around about 100 dollars.
You would probably be looking at 50 - 80 dollars id say ?
I cant see it being more then that, but you never no

Good luck rechroming magnesium. Most places won't touch it. Its not easy to chrome in the first place and removing the old chrome is not good for the magnesium. Don't know all the specifications but a better option might be to go black as it was also a factory color.

but chrome is some much nicer looking.

But thanks for all your replies...I will think about what to do.

Are the Hutch pedal bodies magnesium too? My chrome shop said no no dice on rechroming mag.

NOPE! Cast aluminum.

What about the 2 n 1 headlocks? What are they made of?
raybeard
2 in 1s are machined aluminum, turned on a lathe. Hutch made the regular head locks in aluminum and magnesium.

Thanks raybeard. I read that the pedal bodies are made out of mag and I have read that they are out of aluminum. I always thought they were aluminum though.
