ok folks,
Just wanted to shoot this out there and get some feed back before I proceed.

I have a chrome cw tfm frame in need of restoration.
I was wondering if I should remove the old chrome cause its rusty here and there and also thin and dull in places.
I plan on having it powdercoated or painted white.

Should I have the old chrome removed before redoing the color? or, just go over it?

Thanks for the input.

Your powder coater should take care of that. If the chrome is solid, I'll glass bead it. In places that it's peeling or pitting, I'll sand it out. Removing all the chrome by sandblasting may smooth some charactaristics of you frame you want to keep, so if most of it is solid, I go over it.
