Any ideas on how to remove the plastic endcap from a Shimano DX pedal without damaging it? Need to service the bearings. Thanks

You can use a small spaner tool to place in the holes on each side of the cap and then you can un-thread them. Pretty easy. CB

I made my own spanner tool just for DX's .... but if the edges around the cap - on the pedal have been ground down already from use .... sorry to say you may have to destroy them in the removal to get at the axles for adjustments - start cruisin' ebay they pop up from time to time - guess they knew of the problem and shops had to start selling loose caps - because you see them allot ....
