I recall a thread from months ago about fake anodizing spray paints (transparent colors). Anyone remember what the brand was or where to get it? My Mongoose gold stem isn't gold anymore and needs a little help.
Thanks, Frazer

yep, pretty good looking stuff. i used it on some stem bolts and some brake levers. seems to be pretty durable, it didnt scratch off the stem bolts when i tightened them although i was careful.

I've used the red and blue with good results, let us know how the gold looks. The paint is very transparent so make sure your polished good underneith and remove all remaining/existing color.

i've used the gold. works good. it's very vibrant - not orange-y like some gold ano was, but much brighter that a lot of the "faded" looking gold ano from BITD.

Thanks guys! I'll post before and after pics. My gold stem has some minor pitting, but I'm going to make due and not have it rechromed.

PS: You won't find it with the other spraypaints, you have to look in the automotive section.

I got mine at Kragen auto parts
I think it was 6.99
They didn't have gold, I got the yellow.
Was gonna try it today, but it was raining.
I'm gonna try it on a headset for my cruiser.
I guess the main thing is that you have to let it dry thoroughly, I'd guess about a week.
Anybody know if baking it in an oven will help the cure?
