I finally got a set of NOS grips for the GJS, just like I raced BITD. I am going to install them and maybe ride it lightly and occasionally, although probably never back at the track since I also got the blue comp IIIs today also. Here is my question. How do I ensure the grips stay in good shape and do not turn to goo. I store it in the garage, and it gets pretty hot through the summer.

Take the bars off each time you go inside.

Simple, DONT store it in the garage. I had a friend that stored his race inc in the attic and "goo" is exactly what he got for grips!! I know your gJs is sweet, do her a favor and let her stay inside.

Goo is what the original Oakley 3s were once I pulled it out of my parents attic after 16+ years. I just have to find a place to park it indoors, or pull the bars off as suggested.

the bars idea was sort of a joke, kind of a hassle unless it's a coaster brake set up.
