I'm curious. What chains do people use here? BITD all my bikes used 3/32 Sedisport chains. I used Suntour 3/32 Freewheels and Sugino 3/32 Chainrings.
I dont really know why. Probably because some of the US Pros did. Those Sedisport chains were nice quality chains, and they seemed be strong and long lasting.

I bet most guys use 1/8", and I believe parts are easier to find for that size. You can always run a 1/8" on a 3/32" (at least I think you can), but not visa versa. Personally I like the thin look of a 3/32 set-up. I run a new school chrome Shimano HG 3/32" chain (no master link) with similarly sized components front and rear. Looks killer and keeps the ride extra light (too bad my Phil hubs weigh a ton).

Hehehe.....Yeah, everyone else I knew bitd used 1/8 chains. I remember using a Shimano UG chain back then, and thinking the same thing, thats is, how cool it looked.
When I get to a point where I'll be doing a build, I'll definitely be putting a 3/32 chain on.
Redline Flite sprockets were only 1/8" weren't they?

bitd,3/32 was a 10 speed race chain.i had sedis sport also and was a great chain.still have one on my gt performer.
they were a little lighter for racing and less contact area
for less resistance.plus it looked cool being skinny!!
yeah,i think flight sprockets were 1/8.most chainrings were
acceptable for both sizes.
