I just got quoted some prices on rechroming, and was wondering if it was comparable to what others have paid:

frame is 150.00
fork is 60.00
handlebars approx 60.00
seat post 25.00

is this good, bad or ???
thanks

Sounds cheap compared to my chrome plater. You get what you pay for. I only restore items that I will NEVER sell. Therefore I'm willing to pay top dollar as price is not an issue. My Maximum frame was $350 and I'm currently paying $125 for a set of crank arms. I've used a cheap chrome plater and I'll NEVER go back. More important is to sample his work before and after. Send him something small as a test. Then decide on the quality.

Those prices are right about where my chrome plater is. Last time I had one of my JMC's redone...it was $200 for the frame & fork. Hutch seat clamp was $10 and 401's were $40.

Hoooooohkaaaaayyy!!!
IF anyone would, such as Raybeard, recommend a TOPSHELF chromer, I would much appreciate it.
I'm on the West Coast, but, really I don't care about any of the shipping or whatever else is involved, as like Ray...I AIN'T A GETTIN' OFFA this cruzer...and it's gotta be PERFECTAMUNDO!!
So, if anyone can play OBI WAN KENOBI, an' hook an hombre up, I'd be more than amped.
Gonna keep doing a search on the site...but, would really just like a personal recommendation, as it's JUST THAT IMPORTANT to me.
