My redlines aren't looking to good these days. What is the best method to restore the chrome luster? I use mothers polish for aluminum but it doesn't work good on chrome. Any ideas?

Nothing..you'll need a re-chrome. Cant bring chrome back that far gone!

How much is a re-chrome?

Shop around. Find someone that can do a great plating job without reducing the integrity of the welds. In the midwest you'll pay about $35.00 per crank arm.

At my local plater, they'd probably want $50-$60 per arm. The crooks. $125 for a 26" rim with one rusty spot, sheeez! lol!,,,,OS

I think the region of the country that you live in may actually affect the cost. The EPA standards are getting a lot tougher on platers. You may pay more in an urban area than a rural. But you'll find more platers in the urban areas obviously.

I used Meguiar's Gold Class All Metal Restorer on mine. I gave it a nice shine. Not like new, but pretty damn nice. I'll get em rechromed one of these days.
