I have a Redline 500a that has a set of tuff 2's on it. First of all the rear is coaster brake and I can't find a definitive answer on switching it to a freewheel. Can it be done and if so HOW? Second, the front wheel has a hairline crack in it, any chance of repairing it and is so how? Third, the rear axle needs a rebuild, could someone point me in the right direction (this kinda goes along with my first question)?
Thanks.

John-
You want a JB freewheel adapter and a Tuff Wheel rebuild kit for the rear wheel. Both of these items turn up on ebay often. Expect to pay about $20/$30 for each.
The cracked front is a goner if you plan to ride this bike.

I have hairline cracks in some of my tuffs from a restoring point this is ok as they look the part and are not being punished.
I also have the hairline cracks right where the rivets are on the main diameter this crack is common on old tuffs , these are still ok to ride your dream machine around the block.( depends where the crack is )
In my opinion old tuffs should not be punished if you want to jump with tuffs get some new school tuffs.
I have removed the whole coster hub and replaced with freewheel alloy flange looks great.

Is this the white redline that was on Ebay a few days ago? What color are the tuff's.

Yeah, the guy was only an hour from me. Since I didn't have to pay shipping I picked it up. Thanks for the answers guys. The crack in the front one is across the rim like where the valve stem comes through. I am not going to be jumping it or anything so I figure it'll be OK.

Does the Freecoaster kits go on normal threaded freewheel wheels? I know I had one, and it threads on a normal freewheel wheel.
That isn't what a person would want to add to an already coasterbrake wheel.

John, I have a matching front white Tuff wheel if you want it. Good shape with no cracks. Let me know if you are interested.

That crack should be ok just to cruise around.
I have cracks like you described on a set of Skyway O.E rims they are not looking any different from day to day , year to year they would if I stareted going crazy...... NOT.
