I have a DK stem which is in need of renovation, can anyone inform me whether I can remove the quill shaft (that fits inside the forks) and if I can, how?

the shaft is pressed into the aluminium with a ton of pressure, why would you want/need to remove it for a renovation?

In a previous posting I told my story about two busted DK's. Removing the quill out of the stem will be I'd say a safe way to kill the stem.

Only being curious, what do you want to remove the quill for?
