Ive recently dug out my 80's bmx bike (Hutch) and want to get some of the aluminum parts back to their original luster. I went out and purchased a 1hp bench grinder w/buffing wheel attachment. I broke the wheelset down so I can buff the hubs (Bullseye's). What should I use for a buffing compound? And whats the procedure? Any help would be well appreciated.

Stop right there. Does your wheel have variable speeds? I wouldn't buff aluminum above 1000rpm. I believe most would stay around 750 or better yet do it by hand.
