Yes a rotor will work with the forklifter, but just barely. scroll down and see pic. Forklifters already raise bars high...you're looking at some very high bars. Also, the little piece to stop the rear cable that mounts between the stem bolt and the stem might be a tad tricky to affix. You could drill a hole and put a barrel adjuster in, but it's a shame to do that to a NOS stem. Gyros are good because you can insert your stem a LOT more into the forks and keep your bars reasonably low. If you are doing an RL 20II, it may take some patience/knowhow to get the lower gyro cable-stop piece to fit over/around the wrap-around toptube. If this is the case, look up Mr. Furious for advice -- I believe he's done it.

gyro doesn't depend on stem shaft length. Putting on a rotor will make the bars too high with a forklifter IMO. What kind of bike you putting it on? If it's an RL-20II then you will have a problem with the wraparound top tube getting in the way of the barrel adjuster tabs. These can be bent to fit however. If it's not a 20 II then you can use a gyro no problem.

Great minds think alike. LOL

you beat me to the post by less than a minute axlepeg... lol.
Redline J is experienced at bending the gyro tabs to fit.
