I have a GT that has a broken cantilever mount, has anyone had any luck with repairing something like this?.....or is this clean frame a POS now?
Can anyone tell me if I have any options?

you can drill it out and buy a new one at bike shop and put it in

Depending on where exactly it's broken, sometimes it's an easy fix (the re-work is covered by the brake itself). I've done several at my bike shop. Take it to a trusted local shop that's good and they should be able to take care of it (again, depending on how/where it's broken). Good luck

Sorry to point it out but your frame IS NOT now a POS...your canti mount is (don't throw the baby out with the bath water). Sure, you have plenty of options...just none of them are good from a cosmetic standpoint. TIG welding would yield the best repair but it will burn the finish and leave you with the Frankenstein repair you are in denial about as of your posting. My advice would be to have a qualified frame builder replace the mount completely by brazing or TIG process and then deal with the LARGER issue of restoring the finish. I've seen "bolt-on" canti mounts for some bizarre MTB applications but they tend to be not as sturdy as you would want for BMX use.
The car resto business can be summed up in your present situation...you set out to repair a small/****ant rust hole and you wind up respraying half the freaking car!!!

UPDATE..............
The canti mount only has the post broke off, not the whole apparatus. I called the best bike shop in the area, my LBS blows, and they offer a pst kit where you cut off the post, tap the hole, and thread in the new post. Probably not as strong as OEM, but like Hutch XL24 said.......who needs brakes?....I just want it to pass inspection at my local track, cant do that with no brakes now can we..........
Thanks for the info dudes, and hope this helps some other folks.
