I am rebuilding an '86 Californian and want to know what to do if I can't find an OEM set of rim strips.
What do you guys use?
Help me please.

John cooley used some metallic colored strips from believe it or not Wal-Mart.They were located in the arts & crafts section. He cut the strips to size and either taped the edges together or used another rim strip on top of it.They actually looked pretty good.

Thanks, I plan on using Velox on top no matter what but I wanted the holes to be all shiny and whatnot.
I'll stop by Wallyworld this week and look around.

It's hard to see in this pic, but I used regular rubber rims strips and attached a red chrome polyesther adhesive material to them. I purchase the vinyl from a local sign shop cut into the size i needed and then attached them to the strips. I had some used old pro class strips and my home made ones looked identical in every way. Good Luck.
