can anyone tell me what the material is that frame/handlebar/stem pad covers are made from? looking to make a set and need to know whats the most common material used.
Marc Tardif
The material you need to make pads is 200 denier type Cordura nylon. This is the EXACT same type of material that was used by Flite and Johar back in the day.

The denier number determines the fiber size and Cordura is the brand-name of nylon made by the Dupont deNemours company.

Check with your local fabric stores. It comes in all popular colors.

And why is it that BITD, we had to have this major pad set thing going and today, they have this thin layer of foam velcro'ed on the bikes? Whats up with that?

Hey Bab, they wont have CW logos on em. They will just be camo. Im racing my Pistol Pete this year, which is white, and I dont wanna run my CW pads on it to race. I think it will look bad *** with the camo pads though. If you still want em, let me see how they turn out and I'll let you know.
