before I beat the Sh1t out of some old school profiles. can't get the spindle out of either arm. I even have the profile tool. Any tips.

If the cranks are in a frame:

1....Lay the frame securely so it is protected from whatever it is laying on.

2......cover the frame with some boards.

3.......cover the arm with something hard.

Take a REAL hammer and Beat the spindle out! (Make sure there are no washers in the tool)

Use the profile tool, and instead of hitting with a hammer, use a sledgehammer and no im not joking, i had to use one before, wd-40 ect ect didnt help at all, but the sledgehammer got the job done, just take your time and be careful.

Oh, and the cranks need to have open space under them to be able to drop out.

Time is required quite often on those cranks. I actually dinged a frame trying to install them before I figured out how that STUPID tool worked.

You might want to try some good penetrating oil, it works wonders around WD-40. CRC penetrating oil is a really good one we use in our shop.
