I'm in the process of restoring my first bike. The Ashtabula stem, cranks, and forks on my '78 could look better. I've read alittle on here about re-phosphating. Can anyone elaborate?
Should I not repaint?
Thanks!!
I love this website!! My participation in this hobby wouldn't be possible without you all. Thanks!!!!

I have restored old Ashtabula goods to look very nice with fine steel wool and then oiling them and rubbing it in, give that a try.

I actually already took a fine wire wheel and went over them. I think I'll try the oil thing. Never thought of that.
Thanks Again, as always!!!!
