When was the first year profile used their stamp profile racing.Hint I know it was before the SS line of oversized cranks came out.I think in 99-98.But how many years before hand.I'm looking for positive answers.Have a set of profiles w/o a stamp but looks like an exact 2003 model.Anybody have info for rebuttal.Just trying to solve the missing link

I am wondering the same thing....I have a set of them that are not stamped at all.
Seller originally said they were old school, but they were not really old school. He claimed they were from around 88-89. Sound true?

my profiles aren't stamped either, just a
"depressed" area for the sticker. i also found an ad for the same crank (no stamp) in the november 84 issue of super bmx, so i suppose that doesnt really help either.

Kilo-
yours are the "old school" ones- like 1982 to whenever they changed over to my style. I am just trying to figure out when that happened.

I have stickers for your Profiles.....I thought I would need them for mine, but mine do not have the indented area for the sticker. Drop me a line- I will give you them for what they cost me.

Hi guys just got off the phone with profile seems that profile started stamping them in 92 had some that were not stamped in 91 of the same style.According to profile the non stamped versions are not lifetime warranty since they made them for other companies GT etc.Apparently they havent made any for gt in 7 years what they have told me.Sounds pretty bogus for the one who bends true profiles and can't get warranted. The ones that have a really long slender depressed areas are the rarer old school box style cranks. They made two lines before going to the current style.ALL in ALL profile has not changed the crank arms not even a bit since 92 to 2003.For the stronger cranks they added the SS line in 99.If you need a warranty all you do is send in your crank arms . Less everything and a phone number and 10 bucks they will send you a brand spanking new set.I've already trashed 3 sets and they (profile) doesn't even hassle me.They just send me out a new set in less than a week in a half. They did ask me what current riding I do and what I weigh .I told them freestyle and psycho do or die jumping weigh 185.The cranks I bend are not too bent but enough to notice them.Even though they bend they are still the preferred choice.I did own a set of 401's back in 85 because I never liked the old box style cause they seem to always come loose but not strip because of the splines. It really comes down to the brand name cause all the cranks are choice.
