I was browsing the Internet searching for 185mm cranks and came upon the AC website @ AC Bmx . From just "sight" alone, they have some pretty neat products, especially the anodized Profile style cranks in a couple of colors. Does anyone out there have any first hand information on their products, + or -

Thanks in advance

crunch, crunch, crunch ... these words taste like chicken. mmmmmm.

My vast BMX knowledge chewed dookie on this one.

I suggested AC may be offshore because they could be found on pricepoint pro level bikes.

Quite the contrary, I find, after some research, that the only bike I can today with them installed as a stock item is the $650 Huffy Primus ... which, though a bit less expensive than the Primus which was built with Profile Components @ $995 would still be considered an upper level BMX bike nevertheless.

My bad.

AC is Adventure Components, I believe their stuff is made domestically as their Logo says Made in the USA.

Here is the contact info.
I think the owners name is Brad Roberts, last time I called he answered the phone.

AC is made in USA! Kick A$$ stuff! They have 1 of only 2 sets of V brakes that can be annodized! I just had some done in gold! they came out sweet! They have bearings in em instead of week shims!

Mux,

I'm hip about the anodized parts! I was diggin' on that alone - but I wanted to get the word from some of you cats on the list before I made a road trip out to Westlake Village to see them for myself.

Who's making a top-notch set of cranks these days that don't flex (much) or are prone to stripping the spindles or cracking altogether?

Supercross Strong Arms.

Supercross will be my only choice.

Last year I tried to get a set from AC but I didn't want to buy their black only sprocket, I wanted a Profile. Well "Brad" starts putting down profile and then tells me AC cranks won't work with their chainwheels, and that you need an adapter from him to make them fit. He then says that the adapters are around here somewhere then says "umm I don't think I'll be able to find one so go ahead and buy my chainwheel" The guy is pretty wierd too, no thanks.
GFR Industries
They are a co-sponsor of our team. Don't buy the AC "carbona" hubs...they are junk. Gone thru 2 prs already within 6 months. The other hubs so far have been fine.

I remember reading an article somewhere that a pair of AC cranks on a DiamondBack cracked at the welds.

OK, so the AC has a little "mixed" history - What's the deal on their heavy duty crank-set the DaBarron22 - It looks pretty solid from the photo.
