I was reading one of the many Sheldon Brown articles on wheel building and the virtues of single speed hubs. I'd like to get a set of wheels built. While I'm sure of the rims (Araya Super 7x 24.175), I'm a bit unsure of the hubs. My choices are Paul's, Phil Wood, Bullseye and the Eno hubs by White Ind. Any words of wisdoms?

I came across your post looking for Araya info.
You may not need the info now.

I use Spot Brand hubs on my SS. They are American made and killer. I have never had a problem and my SS is my only MTB.You can even get them for disc brakes.

Their site is www.spotbikes.com
You can call them at 888.711.7768 they are super nice and can sell you to you direct.

Hopefully someday they'll come out with a rear hub spaced for BMX!

I wish they would too. They do have a new chain tensioner that has a bottle opener built into it!!!!

Russ Cooper (websterbmxer) just built me some chrome 24" Araya Super 7Xs with new Phil Wood hubs and they look awesome!! I can't wait until they get here.

Drop him an email (rcooper2@websterbicyle.com), I'm sure he can built you up some sweet wheels.

Russ built some for me too, using NOS Araya 7X and some new school Phil Woods hubs. He does awesome work.

When there were bottled beverages in our dorm, people would come to our room to use my DX's as an opener!
