If you give up the sn I'll tell you all you need to know.
From the looks of it I'm guessing early '86 model Japanese- seatclamp, pedals, no gyro & chainwheel.

And if you can not seem to find the serial number, it might be on the inner side of the rear dropout on the left side. And if Japan, it will have a baseball logo in it.

That appears to be a Japanese serial number. That would be an all-chromoly frame. The Japanese frames are just as nicely built as US frames of that era. Nice score!

I thought that was a US serial - expecially since it is on the BB tube??
The Japan numbers, I thought, had the baseball logo in it, and it was stamped on the inner rear drop out.
That is how the one that I found was, and the original JAPAN decal was also on the frame. B.Britt told me that. Unless there are various Japan numbers....

US numbers are all numeric and are on the rear drop, import ones are on the BB and have letters.
I don't think any of this vintage ever had the baseball... Different factory?
Anyway you look at it, it's worth keeping---my import Pro Performer will be at Rockford in ah, less than a week!
my smoky grey custom...still without brakes, LOL. Still lookin...

I found am earlier 1986 GT Pro F/S Tour, that was all original, and it had the JAPAN decal on the seat tube, and the serial was on the rear inner dropout and was a number like @X10089. (the @ is the baseball), and it had an "X" in it, followed by numbers.
