just wondering what brake's were on the production pro performers in 88. look like nippons and a different u-brake. also don't know what lever's came on them.

I'm not sure about 88's but I know the 87's came with 990's & 880's with RX 3 levers. A friend of mine got a new one. I think 88's were the same.

the spec changed a few times in '88. coulda been any combo of:

D/C 990s or Axiom U-brakes.

D/C tech 7 (or were they 77s by then?) or rx3s.

i think the fronts were Nippons/883s in all cases.
PJandHAROs
yes nippon 883's on the fronts in all cases that I know of

Yeah rears were either 990 or Axiom. I'm still looking for an Axiom U-brake if anyone has one to sell.

I have a 100% stock 88 Pro Performer. It has the fs880 on the front, with a 990 on the back, with rx-3 levers. I have seen them with Nippons on the front and with the Axiom rears. I think they used whatever was available at the time.

ok, so since i have a white 880, i'm going to bolt it on.

i have a couple of silver 990's, and a white acs gripper coming in the mail. the gripper, i won't have to paint at least.

an axiom would be nice to get, but doubt i can ever get one of those.

those rx3 levers, i never see on ebay, in white. i'd really just prefer ones beat up.

thanks guys for the help
