Could this be the year freestyle bikes outnumber racing bikes?

I don't know the numbers, but I think last year about 10%-15% was freestyle. I don't think freestyle could ever out number bmx and just from a numbers perspective, we have the following:

- BMX has 10 years of production advantage over freestyle.

- The first generation freestylers spawned from 15-20? established bmx companies.

- If we take 1984 alone and use Vector, they made one model of the freestyler and 5 bmx? VDC had 5-6 as well (Changas x 2, Gorilas, Chimp, Mini, etc..).

Well, at least one set of color tires stands out in a sea of black

Thanks Keith I think we are making the Trek all in one shot on Thursday night though ?

Tell Rob that I have the Hutch bars for him and I can bring them or ship them if he'd like

Brian,

That's a haul and safe driving to all of you through the night. We did it last year and it sucks, especially when you wake up and only crossing the Ohio border into Indy.

Are you taking Deno with you? He loves cross country drives with non-reclining seats, hahaha

Just got some goodies back from Flintstone's Body Shop and it looks Goooood

Now a few more things from the Anno shop and a few small parts from the Powder guy and I'm ready to assemble, check everything over and disassemble for packing

I'm hoping by next Friday to have all three bikes set and ready to go (We'll see)

Just got my TrickStar from the chrome shop today,off to powder on Mon.Also dropping off a bunch of stuff to the anno shop on Mon.My TS will be built days before Rockford[hopefully].I cannot wait for the Rock this year.Were bringing about 24 bikesplus a few frame/fork combo`s that did`nt get finished in time.I was cruising my buddies Gen1 Haro through my neighborhood tonight,that is one fine riding bike,I wish it was mine

Brian,I`ll pm you my cell,just in case you guys get tired.Were planning on leaving Thur night as well

Anyone down in the Southeast wanna carpool? I'm going to rent a nice comfy SUV with room for bikes and drive up from Atlanta.. have family and friends in Chicago area too - its my hometown, planning to get a little riding in

hey any chance we could get you guys to join the discussion over in the gatherings forum? since the clocktower is not the host hotel, we are trying to organize a get together for friday night. since it seems a number of folks are staying there or at the hotels nearby, that seems to make sense but there might be something that would work better. and of course the more people we can get together at the same place the better so please add your suggestions and ideas. thanks

Wow, I just spoke with Dave Voelker and he is now in. He will be flying in with Blyther and myself on Thursday Morning. Whats going on in Chicago Thursday Night? We need something fun to do?

im rollin with brian (smokin endo) ,mike (akcuda), and john (oldprobmx)

gonna split up the 13 or so hour ride by 2 sleeping in the back of the suburban and 2 driving....

ALOT of AMP energy drink to get there and keep me up, and a few brews with old and new friends.

I`m 100% no show. Too many things aren`t going my way. My big time GT build is so slow that there are other ones building built before mine I`m so busy with work and other peoples builds, health reasons (no mine), and time off from work are a factor leading up to a no show for me. I`m VERY VERY SURE I`ll be making a summertime trip to the Big Apple area so I`m hoping to see my VBMX buddys. I`ll lock down a date before the end of this month. If somebody from Florida is going and have room for a bike or two, swing on by here and take one of mine.

Old School Rider, ya da club scene would be cool, but probably more the Jeans, T-Shirt Shady Bar would be nice. Maybe some ideas of fun cool places to eat.

Oh Ya, I spoke with Fiola and he is going to try and make it also. He should know in the next couple of days. Ron Wilkerson e-mailed me this morning and was going to try and make it also, Blyther told me he would call him and Nourie and try to get the both of them there. Hope it all works out this could be alot of fun....

WOW! A reunion of the top Pros of Freestyle! What a treat that will be!

I thought it was pretty cool to see Blyther and Dominguez last year. And having Bob Haro do the presentation...man, Freestyle is going to be big at the Rock this year!

X...i used to work at a bar / club called Mother's...it has 2 separate rooms...front room is a bar /pool tables / karaoke....back room is air hockey / club....i dont know what goes on on thursday nights, but ill find out....

Wow up until I read this post I was just debating not going even tho the family wants to again.
I'm thinking I'll purchase the ticket and room tomorrow and plan on bringing 3 for the show + our riders if everything fits.

OS 88 and X you guys are going to Mothers that place Rocks and the club seen there is so cool!!! I would love to hook up with you guys in Chicago I will have to see what's going on at the shop that week PS plus the DAM good Food in the city! Hey TNight do you know 2COOL Chris or BAM BAM as DJ's?
