Remember when BMX Plus (or BMX Action) would build the most expensive bike (which was often a Redline RL20-II with gold spokes and stuff)?

Does anyone have any of those articles scanned?

that list of parts is not really the highest dollar items of the time either. alot are high, but we could probly find higher in some areas

To build the same bike, or what would it be adjusted for inflation? Spending that on a bike back then would be like dropping two grand now, easy. I've got over $800 in my new-school ride without even having all top-end stuff on it!
Guav
$1,080 in 1987 would equal $1,917 in 2006 dollars.

You could easily spend $5,000 building a vintage freestyle bike today.

The parts rundown will look pretty similar on the other project builds...I know the Crazy bike was also well equipped with alot of tioga parts. Whatever parts were being heavily advertised made it on the builds. Just a key way to keep the advertising dollars coming into the mag by featuring paying customers products, what it always has been about...then and now.
