Hi I have a quick question how rare is a 16'' gt performer and can I find decals for it? I know a guy who has one and I am thinking of building it for my daughter. it looks like about a 1986 or so the old style with the slanted gt stamp under the seat on the top tube.
thanks loudog

I cannot resist responding as both my girls second bike was a Jr. performer I paid about $100.00 for because I wanted it.
I have always wanted to repaint it but have not because stickers are difficult to find.
The ones at AJK would work but they are different from the ones on the bike I have which I have never seen for sale any where.
My oldest is now riding a Redline 600a as my 4 year old rides the Jr. performer.
I will never forget when my oldest was first learning to ride the Jr she crashed and the bike sort of landed in the gutter.
She was upset and saying "My GT, My GT" because she was afraid it would get run over by a car even though none were coming and the street we were on is not at all busy.

Here's my oldest son's Jr Performer. I found it in a lady's yard while delivering mail one day, asked if she wanted to get rid of it and she said for five bucks it's yours. That was about 3 years ago. I finally got around to fixing it up a bit and gave it to him last year for his 4th birthday. Just threw some 86 decals on to spruce it up a bit.
Good enough for him! And his little brother will inherit it in a few years as well.

Here is my son's with 86 Word Tour decals. I think the forks on his are hard to find (not as rare as Lou's custom made ones but still) LOL
Those Performer jr forks are rare. Usualy they come with those late model race forks.

I thought I did but I can't find them on my computer. Figures
It really looked cool with the laid back seat post on but my boy is not that tall yet. They are fun little bikes, no doubt!
