I got asked the question by someone interested in a complete bike I have on ebay. USPS right? How much should I say? Anyone ever send a complete down under?

Yes, USPS should be the cheapest. Insist on Air Parcel, as that should get there within two weeks. Ground will be there, well, lets just say it will be a lot longer than two weeks.
If you have an idea of the weight and measurments, you should be able to get a shipping quote online.

Complete bikes are too big for Parcel Post. According to the
USPS rate calculator and the
Country Conditions for Mailing to Australia, the size limit on Parcel Post to Australia is 42 inches of maximum length, and 79 inches of combined length and girth (the length plus the distance around the box). This is way too small to ship a complete bike. Some Post Offices don't measure, but assume that they will. Be very careful and read all of the fine print at the USPS website BEFORE you quote a price. Chances are, the only USPS service that will allow a bike-sized box is Global Express Guaranteed, which can cost over $300 and which is still limited to a length of 46 inches--smaller than a typical BMX-sized box.
By the way, if anyone HAS shipped a complete bike to Australia, please tell us all how you did it, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to know.

I've had a couple frames and semi complete bikes sent to me in Australia via USPS no problem.
Parcel post Air and Priority Air are winners.
It's usually under $100 US.

I sent a complete bike to Australia through USPS. It was $120.00 and took about a week to get there.

I agree USPS is the way to go. I also agree with the two sep. boxes too. Should take about a week or two at the MOST.
Oh yeah, and Serva rules !
(nothing to do with the context of this thread, just thought I would give a "shout out".)
