I got a call a few weeks ago from a friend who said he had spotted a Chrome Dyno Pro Compe at bicycle rental place at a small resort town about a 1 1/2 hour drove north of me.

I tracked down the owners of the rental place and after a phone call I was headed to pick it up. The owners weren't sure which bike I was after but they assured me that no bikes had been stolen or rented today when I left out on my trip to pick it up. When I arrived I found a Chrome walmart bike. Needless to say I was flaming hot for wasteing my day on that trip. They apoligized for the misinformation but it wasn't there fault.

I got home and threatened to kill my knuckle head friend who should have known better and still swears that there was a PC there just 2 weeks ago.

So has anything like this ever happened to any of you before?
