just like the comp III copies, the same pattern is used on a lot of tyres, they arent repros, repros would have the logo too

I saw those last night and my wife made a very valid point... "Well you guys do still ride your bike and they don't have the GT logo on the side, so I say it's a good thing." I have to agree with her on this one too
I know that in the last two years I thrashed a few pairs of oldschool rubbers and it erked the $h!t out of me !
just wish they were gumwall

That's cool, I'm all for repro tires for actual riding purposes.

I didn't know that there were even repops or copies available. If I could get them in black, I'd order them in a heartbeat because it means I could ride my Mach One and still be "cool". Otherwise, I watch how each revolution of the wheel cost me $$!!

I myself often wondered why some vbmx entrepeneur doesn't do like Coker Tire (sp?) does for the hot rod scene. That is, reproduce classic looking tires with modern technology. Probably not cost effective. I wonder what the story behind the repop GT tires is?

I also wonder about the story behind them.
I wouldn't use 'em for a show bike, but they would be great to ride hard on.

So repro tires are Ok but God forbid someone makes a repop set of RL20II pegs...

I'm just messing mostly, although I could care less about repop pegs as I don't have the $ for a RL20II anyway.

I'm all for repro anything. As long as the quality is there. At least in the case of a bike you're going to ride. Sure it stinks for the 1% that can find and own the original... but for the other 99%, its a good thing.

For riding on they are fine, for collecting and showing, forget it......
By the way, I have an original single lonley NOS white GT skinwall tire in 20 x 1.75 size. Not a repro, but the real thing and it is honestly NOS and never been used or mounted. Just the one though (sorry no pair)....so if anybody needs it or wants to trade something let me know, thanks and cheers!!
